Harmony's History

Harmony Clothing Closet began as a student project in April 2007 when a group of high school students researched services needed in Nevada.  We were located for our first year in the basement of the Nevada Community Resource Center.  From 2008-2011, we occupied a house, owned by the Nevada School District, on Lincoln Highway.  In 2011 the District elected to raze the house, and we were offered our current location on 6th St (aka Main St).  The building owners, Al and Kathy Kochler, generously allowed us to use the building, rent-free, until 2021.  In 2021 the Kochlers gifted the building to Harmony.

After transitioning from a student project to a community organization, various churches within Nevada oversaw Harmony's operations.  In 2020, Harmony assumed its own management with a Board of Directors and was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
